Re: Not Coping

@Birdofparadise8 no, no matter what you have to distract you, it doesn't stop wandering thoughts. I've found the only thing that works is reading a good book but then I have to be in the mood to read. My eyes are usually sore after looking at 2 screens all day I don't feel like reading anyway!

Dinner will be leftovers, a pasta bake, chicken and veg or tuna mornay. Mal my cat is lying beside me and keeps looking up at me, meaning I must pat him. Never mind that I'm busy trying to type on my tablet!

Re: Not Coping

Yeah it doesn't and that's what's the hard part. Nighttime is always the worst.

Yeah reading is good too, but yes you have to be in the mood.

Don't you read from a physical book?

That sounds yummy. Aww how cute. @ENKELI

Re: Not Coping

@Birdofparadise8 I have both physical and ebooks. I prefer the real thing so I can feel and smell it. Sounds weird I know!

Mal has been my emotional support cat for many years. He knows when I need comfort and will not move from my side until he knows I'm feeling better. I didn't rescue him, he rescued me 🥰

How's your assignment going?

Re: Not Coping

Omg how did you get a cat like that?

I prefer the real book as well. @ENKELI

It's alright, I'm making breakfast now.

Re: Not Coping

@Birdofparadise8 I got Mal through a friend of a friend. His original owners had split up and were moving to houses that didn't allow pets. I agreed to take him and the rest is history. I've had him since he was 3, he'll be 11 in August. I believe God sent him to me 😊

Making breakfast? What are you making? Sounds intriguing!

Re: Not Coping

Aww, that is nice @ENKELI

What type of cat is he? Is it a breed thing that Mal gives you comfort or other factors?

I'm making carrot cake overnight oats.

Re: Not Coping

@Birdofparadise8 Mal is 3 quarters Ragdoll. His mother was a pure bred Ragdoll and his dad was Ragdoll with a mix of moggie. He has most of the Ragdoll traits, very laid back, has a high pain tolerance, beautiful blue eyes and huge paws that my brother calls murder mittens. He's a big floppy ginger ninja! He used to be extremely playful when he was younger and would chase balls, stuffed toys and socks but now he's older he doesn't play as much.

Your breakfast sounds delicious, I will have to get the ingredients to try for breakfast on the weekend.  Have you tried it before? If not you'll have to tell me how it turns out.

What do you have on tomorrow?

Thursday is a busy day at work for me but hopefully I'll get home at a reasonable time and be able to chat with you.

Re: Not Coping

Is he your profile photo @ENKELI

Ragdolls are expensive to adopt these days.

I find it so warming he can give you comfort. I will have to wait a few years until I can move out and have a permanent living situation.

I don't have any uni, but I will work on my two assignments, go for a walk, do some hip exercises, and who knows what else. I will probably watch a bit of TV.

Re: Not Coping

I'm going to say goodnight to you now @ENKELI

Thanks for chatting with me. I hope you have a good day at work tomorrow.

Re: Not Coping

@Birdofparadise8  yes he is my profile pic 🥰

Ragdolls are expensive,  I've been lucky that I was given mine. I also have my mum's cat Gypsy who is part Ragdoll as well.

I love both cats and dogs, I had a Border Collie for 13 years and she was a beautiful girl. I was going to get another dog but I kept comparing them to her which isn't fair so I decided not to have another dog. I definitely recommend having a pet, they can help with loneliness.

I'm glad you have things to m occupy you during the day tomorrow. I'll try and send a message during the day to see how you're going.

Have you always had hip problems?

You're probably in bed now so hope you sleep well and I'll chat with you tomorrow.
