Hello ^^
I'm not sure how much depth is appropriate for an introductory post. I reflect a lot, but I'll try to keep it short and sweet.
Last year, I moved into a new environment. It allowed me to stabilise. I wrote every day: poetry, short stories, reflections, poetic reflective stories.
It's been quite a journey, but it seems I can confuse or even upset people at times. I don't force perspectives, but apparently, even poetry can cause upset. I realise there is a time and a place for such things, and it's not for everyone.
I'm not looking for validation or recognition, just a gentle kind of understanding. I've found it difficult to be peaceful and bright in a world full of friction, which seems to be my only real friction.
Sometimes, I can't help but express myself poetically. But, I'm not sure that kind of thing will resonate here. I soften my darkness, and dim my light, so that I can exist in a place that is supportive of my misunderstood and unexpected development.
I do have mental health conditions. I'm happy to talk about them.
I'm looking forward to exploring the forums. I often read a lot of posts before making my own.

Hello @tarkanakrat and welcome to the forums. I also write poetry and share some of them here. My poems are usually written in my darkest moments so they can get very dark. I also write ones based on traumatic life experiences as a way to express things and get things out. When I share them here if I'm worried that something might trigger or upset others there's the option to put a trigger warning on it so that it is hidden and if others want to read it they can tap on it to read it.
@tyme can probably explain that so much better than me 😂.
It's lovely to have you here and i hope you find it helpful to connect with the community ☺️

@tarkanakrat when I wrote poetry as a child/teen it was always positive and happy. Unfortunately my mental health hasn't been good lately which has lead to the darker poetry but I do sometimes challenge myself to put a positive spin on things. To keep things light in my life I do colouring and use lots of bright colours and sparkly gel pens to brighten up my world a bit ☺️.
I love that last part that you said 'Yes, there is tragedy. There is also wonder'. It's so very true ☺️

Hey @tarkanakrat ,
Welcome!
I'm glad to see @Dreamy has already welcomed you 🙂
I can't say I'm a fellow poet, but I can say I've been through some tough challenges and can relate when things are gloomy.
On a brigher note, I can also relate when things are bright 🙂
We're a pretty friendly bunch here. There's always someone online, and moderators are on 24/7 to ensure posts align with Community Guidelines.
I look forward to hearing from you. I believe there are some poetry threads. @Dreamy , do you know which is an active poetry thread for now?

Hey @Dreamy ! Just like you tag members with "@", you can tag threads with "@" too! I won't do it for you. Feel free to give it a go. Just type @ and then start typing the name of the thread 🙂
@tarkanakrat , you can actually share your poetry anywhere, and even make your own thread. Totally okay 🙂 It's what works for you.
We are all pretty unique here. We all how our own little uniqueness. But we are real people with real stories 🙂
So glad you can join us

Thankyou @tyme, I cheated. I just tagged @tarkanakrat in the poetry thread hehe. Technology sometimes doesn't cooperate with me 😂.
